i think about this scene constantly. this is probably the only time they’ve both been totally genuine and honest with each other ever. and they still don’t understand each other.
charlie has always loved the idea of her more than her. arguably their most romantic moment before this occurs in jersey shore, when she’s very literally not herself.
to the waitress, charlie isn’t just saying “i love you.” he’s said that he loves her thousands of times before. to her it’s deeper than that. to her he’s saying, “i love you (for the person that you are. i know your flaws and i love you in spite of them. i always will, no matter what you do, no matter how badly you fuck up)” and to a person as chronically lonely as the waitress is, who has been rejected and humiliated by her lovers time and time again, that’s everything she needs to hear.
and of course, on some level, this is what charlie thinks he means as well. but his “i love you” carries no more weight than the other thousands of times he’s said it to her. in saves the day, charlie’s ideal world is a satirized version of the stereotypical nuclear family, because charlie genuinely believes that that’s the life he wants.
like most of the gang, charlie’s adherence to social roles and expectations are inconsistent, even as he professes to believe strongly in their value. he is a proud american when it suits him, he is willing to be a father when it benefits him, and he is interested in the waitress only when it suits him to be interested in her. the waitress isn’t anybody special; she’s an attractive woman that charlie has decided is the epitome of everything he should be.
this is why jersey shore is the peak of their romantic relationship. because ultimately, while charlie is willing to and, at times, actively wants to love her, the unfortunate fact of the matter is that he doesn’t even like her.
he puts vitamins in her shampoo. he gets her fired from jobs he doesn’t like, and protects her on jobs he approves of (most blatant example of this is when he barks at a passing stranger who might steal her bike when she’s delivering indian food vs literally trying to have her stabbed at the fair). he is constantly trying to make her into somebody he likes being around.
to charlie, this “i love you” is just a statement of fact. loving her is something he should do, so he does. it’s yet another frivolous idea that has passed through his imagination, of no more real significance to charlie’s core identity than being a patriot is. to the waitress, this “i love you” is the only one that has ever mattered, to her, this is a breakthrough moment in which she finally, finally understands and connects with this man who has been stalking her for more than a decade.
it makes it hit all the harder when she realizes, when all is said and done, that she still doesn’t understand him at all.

i really like how much they're adding to Grover in the show. don't get me wrong, I love book Grover, but the show really gives him so much depth in terms of him wanting to be a searcher, especially with the centaur scene and the arch scene. im so happy that they're commenting on colonialism and the ethnic cleansing of Native Americans. Grover was the star of ep 4
also I'm probably reaching here, but since Aryan is Indian, the colonialism thing hits harder but maybe I'm wrong because I'm Indian and i love when people talk about colonialism

ARC Review: Any Duke in a Storm by Amalie Howard
Tumblr media
4.25/5. Releases 1/09/2023.
Vibes: romance on the high seas, badass heroines, ridiculously besotted heroes, and sword fight boners
Heat Index: 7/10.
Lady Lisbeth, countess, divorcee, and spy, is on the run. She's taken on the persona of Bonnie Bess, feared by all--except her new sailing master, the infuriating Raphael Saint. Problem one: Raphael may be a part of the smuggling ring Lisbeth is attempting to infiltrate. Problem two: she is, sadly, both extremely annoyed by and extremely attracted to him. Problem three: she may just have to rely on him if they're going to get away from the people pursuing her in one piece.
I was, to be honest, a little worried about how Amalie would pull this off. A lot of pirate-adjacent romances can get super fetishistic super fast. Plus, Raphael (who is of mixed-race ancestry) could easily dip into the Exotic Brown Man caricature. However, after I let her do her thing, I was pleasantly surprised with a romance that is both heartfelt and ridiculously sexy, with a solid dose of adventure. It's worth the risk!
Quick Takes:
--If you're a fan of "man falls first and harder" in romance... You'll love this. Lisbeth is a very guarded, icy heroine who's here to do a job and doesn't have time for nonsense. Raphael... is so naturally flirtatious, first off--but he's also much more in touch with his emotions and isn't afraid of letting Lisbeth know that he's interested. The sexual tension is THICK, but their banter and interplay is another huge part of the fun. They play off each other so well, and it all begins with a SWORDFIGHT!
--Raphael does bring a lot of humor to the story. In a lot of ways, he reminds me (and this is a compliment) of Prince Naveen from The Princess and The Frog? Like, he's very consciously leaning into being FRANCH, and he never misses an opportunity to hit on Lisbeth, but he also genuinely appreciates her talents and abilities and has a lot of really sweet moments.
He's also super secure in himself, which brings up another thing I loved about this. Raphael isn't by any means "feminine", and he definitely has several scenes wherein he takes a dominant role in his dynamic with Lisbeth. But he's also very comfortable with being, like... pretty. And delicate. He's a swashbuckler, but he'll also joke about wearing her blouses, and revel in the newfound possibilities of her taking control in the bedroom. There's a very "local man realizes he may have a bit of a submissive side and he's GOOD with it" vibe to it all.
--I don't usually like kids in romance, but here we have a legitimately good one! Lisbeth comes into the story familiar with Narina, a twelve-year-old girl whose mother she was friends with. Narina becomes a part of their adventures, and she's... fucking hilarious? Like, a foul-mouthed, snarky young girl who has a knack for piracy. And it's one of those things where Lisbeth is always like "DECORUM" because she's attempting to save this child's manners, and Raphael (who of course has an immediate affinity with Narina, NATURALLY) can't help but indulge her and encourage her wrongs. It's adorable, it makes him even hotter in a "doting father" kind of way and I loved the conclusion it reached.
--I'm really not an expert on this particular part of history, so correct me if my impression is wrong. But it felt like Howard made an effort to represent the unique interplay of cultures across the islands, as well as how one really isn't that different from the other. Raphael, as I mentioned, is French--but he's also of Indian and Creole descent. The novel doesn't delve too deeply into the complexities there, but you do get the sense from Raphael that he hasn't really fit into any of the boxes offered to him by nineteenth century society, as a French duke who isn't white and is very much his father's legitimate heir.
But I really appreciate seeing a book that really didn't take place in the ballroom, or ballroom adjacent, or really in England at all. You have a great sense of life at sea here, as well as some island-hopping, a detour to America, and so on. It offers a much bigger, grander world than a lot of conventional Victorian romances.
--There's a great emotional beating heart here, and you really feel Lisbeth falling for this man, essentially against her will, while he steadfastly waits for her to recognize her own feelings. It leads to a great culmination, and some truly swoony emotions.
The Sex:
Um, really good. I do want to call out that Lisbeth is pansexual, and the book doesn't shy away from that; one of the supporting characters is her ex-lover, and at one point another friend is outright like "oh wait, you like dudes too?" I loved that, and I loved that it's seriously not a big deal, just this known thing about her and her experiences.
But yeah. This shit is hot. There's not a huge emphasis on penetrative sex. Like it, happens, but there are a lot of other things that happen, and they do not feel any less like sex. (Including one scene that I don't want to spoil, but you don't see a lot of that exact configuration in historical romance, and..... it's so good.)
Raphael has piercing(s!) and tattoos, and Lisbeth's obsession with them is certainly incorporated. And like I mentioned earlier--there's some exploration of both of them discovering New Things about themselves together. Essentially, they both go into this believing they prefer to be dominant, and realize that they're both, perhaps... switch-y. This leads up to a scene towards the very end that delighted me Very Much. Put simply: the sex in this book is REALLY great.
Like I said, I was at first a little worried about how this one would turn out. However, I was ultimately really happy with where it went. Seeking a "woman and her overeager dangerous himbo go do piracy together" book? This is it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

i’m indian, and i also think that des was so necessary this season. i think there’s some cultural nuance that may go unnoticed for people who aren’t (which is totally not their fault!) but i definitely had pressure on me growing up to befriend and even date indian boys. i’m sure my parents’ reasoning was different than mine, but i honestly really appreciated having someone who Got It. my ex was indian and it was very validating to be with someone who understood the things i was going through and had experienced them with his parents.
there’s also something very specific in how indian moms treat their sons versus their daughters, and rhyah was (unfortunately) a very good representation of that. it's kind of a Thing in indian communities, the boys are such momma's boys and get completely coddled whereas the girls are kind of forced to grow up much quicker. the way my mom treated me and the way she treated my brother were very different. which then leads into my dad being the one to really understand me and ride for me, so looking at it for devi... makes losing mohan impossibly more devastating, as was addressed in season one. but i think the scene in 3x09, an indian mom standing up for her daughter, is huge. there's also the added layer of the community and how gossipy and judgey and nosy they are, and how what nalini did would've definitely gotten out to them. s1 nalini was worried about how she was being seen and talked about (ganesh puja) but s3 nalini cares far more about protecting her daughter and validating her experiences even if it may get her talked about. this also contributes quite beautifully to the finale, where devi wants more time with nalini and nalini doesn't want her to go. des may not have been necessary to reach that point, but his inclusion in the story does make it hit so much harder for me.
i'm so sorry this turned so long! and of course i'm aware my experiences aren't universal and other indian people may completely disagree but i just wanted to share my perspective :) i love your analyses so much, you are truly a gift to the nhie fandom :)
thank you for this ask, and for the compliments! i have Thoughts on all of this, and i’m so sorry in advance for how long this will inevitably be. but your perspective lights up my brain, making me wanna talk about devi/des and nalini and devi & nalini’s dynamic and the role community plays in their lives and i’m kissing you on the forehead.
let's start with devi/des because, as the show itself recognized, they make an exceptional springboard for the exploration of themes!!
i’m indian, and i also think that des was so necessary this season. i think there’s some cultural nuance that may go unnoticed for people who aren’t (which is totally not their fault!) but i definitely had pressure on me growing up to befriend and even date indian boys. i’m sure my parents’ reasoning was different than mine, but i honestly really appreciated having someone who Got It. my ex was indian and it was very validating to be with someone who understood the things i was going through and had experienced them with his parents.
(disclaimer: before we really get into it anything, i do not wish to invalidate your experience as an indian person watching this show, rather build upon it with my findings as an academic mr. abed, but definitely read my take with the grain of salt that i'm a whitey white person and - aside from a handful of novels over the past couple years - nhie is one of the few indian-made-about-indian-identity pieces of media i've consumed.)
here's my hot take: des himself actually offers devi very little in the way of deeper connection to her culture.
a prominent aspect of devi’s fractured identity, of course, is how americanized she is in comparison to the rest of her family. she eats meat and complains about having to wear saris and would rather vacation in aspen than india because it’s the playground of the rich and famous! she shows basically no interest in bridging this divide, either, because any and all participation in hindu culture only makes her feel further away from the picture of high school normality to which she aspires. this exchange from 1.04, for example, is especially relevant to our discussion:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so, it’s telling about the show’s intentions for the relationship that devi and des meet in an episode where devi’s forced to straddle her high school and her hindu identities, with her forced participation in navarathri getting in the way of her doing damage control on her post-paxton image, only to have des help more with the high school damage control than devi’s disinterest in her culture. his callout of her shallow understanding of her own community aside - you’re one of those indian girls who only likes white guys and thinks all indian dudes are computer geeks or cheesy club rats who wear too much cologne - des unwittingly pulls devi closer to that picture of high school normality she’s chasing by being the one to suggest they make paxton jealous. their chemistry overshadows any serious discussion of devi’s mild racism.
this is consistent with the show’s treatment of the relationship across the board, too. on the surface, by merit of being weirdly sort of a combo of [ben and paxton] if [they] were also indian, des is better suited to devi than her past boyfriends. in actuality, he reinforces the shallowness of the ideal devi’s been reaching for this whole time because, for devi, to be with him means to escape out from under herself.
that being said, it’s obviously very relevant to the plot and to devi’s emotional journey that des is indian come 3.09. i think it’s, once again, telling, though, that, after she gets to experience the high of dating a guy out in the open and with her mom’s approval, that feeling of normalcy is quashed under the nuances of participating in indian culture. namely, the special brand of misogyny you outlined so well:
there’s also something very specific in how indian moms treat their sons versus their daughters, and rhyah was (unfortunately) a very good representation of that. it's kind of a Thing in indian communities, the boys are such momma's boys and get completely coddled whereas the girls are kind of forced to grow up much quicker. the way my mom treated me and the way she treated my brother were very different. which then leads into my dad being the one to really understand me and ride for me, so looking at it for devi… makes losing mohan impossibly more devastating, as was addressed in season one.
there’s so much to be said about the show’s relationship to indian-specific misogyny, it probably deserves its own post, so for now i’ll just say this - the fact that something culture-specific drove devi and des apart highlights, in my opinion, the way des fails to provide devi a deeper connection to being indian.
now, let’s switch gears for a moment to talk about nalini. a prominent aspect of her characterization is that she’s secure in the way her culture shapes her identity but feels disconnected from that culture in such a way that brings about an inversion of devi’s own fractured identity. you mentioned ganesh puja, and that episode is the perfect example of the push and pull in nalini’s life where her culture is concerned. she doesn’t have any close friends within the sherman oaks community so showing up to puja means nonstop scrutiny with no refuge from rehashing her still-fresh loss, but it also means spiritual enrichment. for example,
Tumblr media
there’s a reason this is a) one of the most emotionally-impactful closing shots of an episode and b) one of my personal favorite moments in the show, and the reason is that nalini’s whole world feels immediate and peaceful - her girls in the close space of the car with her, all of them touched by and processing pandit raj’s words. it represents everything nalini wants. namely, to feel the strong ties to her family facilitated by participation in her culture.
since nalini spends season one so insecure in her ability to rebuild any meaningful sense of family or community in the wake of mohan’s death and devi actively resists inclusion in the community for the way it makes her feel like a loser virgin, nalini and devi find themselves harshly at odds over the cultural divide. both 1.04 and 1.09 feature significant moments of tension - so disappointed in you and i wish you were the one that died that night, respectively. their needs and wants are too antithetical for them to ever find common ground.
then nirmala (my beloved) shows up and provides nalini some security. she both connects nalini and devi back to mohan, as well as makes nalini’s home in india feel closer without uprooting devi from hers. and - not to take away from what you said here -
des may not have been necessary to reach that point, but his inclusion in the story does make it hit so much harder for me.
- because, yes, devi having her first mom-approved boyfriend is a significant turning point in both devi’s journey and devi & nalini’s relationship and he would never have been nalini-approved if he weren’t indian, but !! the hugeness of nalini standing up for devi can and should be traced back primarily to women!!
specifically, the way the four generations of women coming together and fostering a deeper understanding of each other facilitates reflection on what parts of their culture actively harms them and on how participation in the culture could be molded to fit their lives instead of them trying to fit the mold as dictated to them by the culture. there are unreasonable expectations to navigate and harsh and impenetrable social structures in place, but there’s also a safety and comfort in having a community that prides itself on its ability to knit its members closer and closer together.
all that’s to say, i do think des provides something to the story by merit of being indian that no other pre-existing character could have and is, as you put it, necessary to the season. but it’s also essential to my understanding of the show’s themes that he’s not the one who bridges the cultural disconnect in devi’s identity. instead, nalini, nirmala, kamala, and - most important of all - devi herself will be responsible for defining what, exactly, being indian means to her.

Playing Raji: An Ancient Epic again and I'm so blown away at how it blends ancient storytelling mediums with modern videogames to tell a Hindi epic fantasy story.
It's a Indian game about a brother (Golu) and sister (Raji) who are orphaned and perform as acrobats with in a carnival. When Golu and other children are kidnapped by demons, Raji chases after to rescue him. Sure it's helped by the deities Goddess Durga and Lord Vishnu who also serve as narrators.
The cut scenes are all done in the style of traditional Indian shadow puppetry with Durga and Vishnu telling the story. The game design is based on pahari paintings with architecture designs inspired by medieval Rajasthan.
Along the way are status and reliefs of mythological figures that you can look closer at and hear/read who they are and briefly what they are known for.
There are also mural series with symbolic depictions of story elements. You can examine them and as Vishnu tells story, the figures are highlighted to show who or what each is in the same way a teacher would point to them. It's a super cool way to be introduced to the mythology.
Because she's an acrobat, Raji's fight style revolves around tumbling to avoid damage between attacks. Combat is mostly about figuring out the gimmick of the enemy to dodge them and effectively damage them. The main challenge is getting your hands to do it. You get up to 4 different weapons through the game that favor different fighting styles and you can quickly switch weapons to vary within a fight.
The puzzles aren't very challenging (most are clearly not intended to be), but they do serve to tell the story and highlight specific elements. The disk puzzles reveal Raji's past memories. There cursed tree rotating puzzles symbolize dispelling the evil. They're another way of using traditional art styles to bring the tale to life.
There are also platform challenges where you put your acrobatics (and maneuvering abilities) to the test. Again these aren't particularly hard if you're competent but I personally fail and die frequently doing them and it's just one click below being frustrating for me. I know I CAN do them, I just have to not get turned around.
They're are easy, normal, and hard game settings on Switch, plus story mode (no combat) and one hit kill modes on different platforms so you can really set your experience. It's about 10-12 hours of game play, so long enough to really get into it, but short enough that it won't consume your life. There really isn't any filler. It's a mostly railroaded story with locked perspective telling a specific series of events. It's meant to feel like you're at the feet of a master storyteller telling a well known epic. But that's brought alive with the technology of videogames in a wonderful way.
Do note that you NEED a controller to play this game. The mouse and keyboard controls are much harder and clearly secondary. The controller has aim assist and the mouse and keyboard don't (but it's almost harder to aim manually on the mouse and keyboard). The attacks don't have a good hand feel on mouse and keyboard but a great feel on the controller. I actually bought a controller for my desktop to play it. I'm playing it again on the Switch now and it feels better. Playing it on a TV also really helps you feel the sheer scale of the architecture.
The soundtrack is really cool and never gets old. It really captures the meditative feeling of exploration or the intensity of battle using traditional Indian styles and instruments.
It's currently 66% off on Steam until August 10 for $8.49. Normally $24.99 on all platforms. There's also a demo that lets you play the first level. WELL worth the money.
This is a wonderful indie game with a lot of heart and it's incredibly refreshing to see fantasy that isn't European at all. It's very firmly an Indian story about Indian mythology told using Indian story telling arts reimagined for a more interactive medium. Still hoping one day we get a sequel the door was left open for.

Shojo Reviews Movies: RRR
Tumblr media
Guys. THIS MOVIE SLAPS HARDER THAN ANYTHING HOLLYWOOD HAS PUT OUT IN THE LAST DECADE.
It’s a little over three hours long but let me tell you I was disappointed when it was over because it could have went on for five hours and I would have the same opinion. RRR is epic, heartbreaking, stunning, lights that fire inside of you to keep fighting and put those colonizers in their place. I gotta get up in six hours so I’m just gonna write some bullet point thoughts:
- I’ve never seen a movie made and set in a country that has 1. lived through the British Empire and 2. won against it. The pride of India as a nation was practically oozing from every pore of this film. I’ve also never seen a film that villainizes white Europeans in such a harsh and unapologetic way. Every white person had no redeeming qualities whatsoever and boy did it feel good to see each of them get their comeuppance. (Yes, there is Jenny who you could argue is the token “not all white people” character but she wasn’t perfect, she just happened to be just kind enough to be on the right side of things where it mattered.) Comparing this to a film like Django Unchained where you hate Leo DiCaprio’s character but you love to hate him. It’s still Leo. He’s still very charismatic, handsome, despicable, the whole nine. The governor, his wife, his guards, all awful terrible people who you just hate. Period. The pay off at the end is *chef kisses* to say the least.
- Naatu Naatu has the skill and prowess of any Gene Kelly ballet with the energy of an EDM rave. I need to watch it approximately 12,000 more times because it’s absolutely fantastic.
Tumblr media
- The differences between American and Indian cinema is a road I’ve always wanted to explore and RRR was a hell of an introduction. In America having a full blown musical number in the middle of an epic revolutionary war drama would more than likely be seen as a gimmick and yet it feels so natural here. And I’m not just talking about Naatu Naatu. There were multiple songs explaining the internal struggle these men are going through, resetting the scene, etc. and they didn’t distract me in the slightest.
- Nick Fury should have called Bheem and Ram to take care of Thanos instead.
- I still can’t tell what I was more impressed over: the sheer amount of extras, the fight choreography, or those thirty seconds of Ram dressed as Rama jumping out of the flames like the god he is and landing hit after hit with Bheem making Jason Mamoa look like a guppy with that spear just UGH EVERYONE WAS SO GODDAMN COOL.
Tumblr media
Alright I think that’s everything. Go watch RRR. (Fair warning: this movie does contain very high amounts of violence, bloodshed, and racism so don’t go in expecting three hours of cool suspender dancing. This movie is graphic and does not shy away from showing it. That being said, go watch RRR.)

Behind the Beautiful Forevers, National Theatre (2015)
David Hare's adaptation of Katherine Boo's book about a Mumbai slum. It follows various people and their interconnected stories, and Joplin is one of those playing multiple characters in the play: Sub-Inspector Shankar, the Prosecutor, and an unnamed extra.
Tumblr media
First off, just a warning for anyone who might need it, as Sub-Inspector Shankar is not above committing a little light torture to get the results he wants. The story is pretty heavy too - there's self-immolation, suicide and violence.
And yeah, I am just here taking my little screenshots, and I am not above saying a uniform can look good on the right body even when said body is wielding a stick or belt as an instrument of torture. But you all know that from these blog posts already... First watch was for going oof at the story, second watch was just for going mad taking screencaps.
---
Oh HI Assad Zaman! He has a motorbike.
Tumblr media
He.....oh dear. He had a very bad time as Deepak Rai, aka Kalu. Brutally murdered for breaking into the airport grounds to steal metal. (but he also turns up as a number of other characters)
Hmmmm hello Mr Officer Sir. That IS a moustache!! Sub-Inspector Shankar Yeram aka Fishlips 🙃 (I'm not making it up!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He wants to keep the murder rates low! Get the certificates, look after his kids....just say the murder victim was suspected of having TB, the coroner will know what to do. Tell the other pickers he was murdered though, we wanna keep them scared!
Among the British actors putting on their Indian accents, he's at least doing a posher one but umm. If you know he's a Cockney you still know.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holy SHIT did he just pick up Sunil the picker one-handed skdjdjjfjfjff 💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The problem is I'm trying to have critical thoughts and then it's just 'HURRR. LOOK HOW BIG HE IS.'
Oh no, torturing a man for evidence is bad for his back :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Can you tell me what they've been charged with?"
"Yes, I can." 😐🤌
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tick of pulling the trousers up is splendid. The moustache is glorious. The bribery by tiffin is kind of charming. But the accent....bb it's not your best :') I guess it's a struggle to project and do this accent together?
Beginning of the second act (the rains have arrived - hence hat).
Tumblr media
He sort of takes pity on the woman whose eldest son, husband and daughter have been jailed for beating a woman who then self-immolated (which they didn't do). I say sort of, because money and tiffins are very much involved, but he helps get Abdul a school certificate to ensure he'll go to juvie rather than adult prison.
Tumblr media
As an aside, the second act hits SO much harder. The audience laughter is rarer, quieter, more nervous - in the first half it often made me uncomfortable, like the characters were grotesques to be laughed at. The themes come together too - younger generations who have seen either tenuous opportunity or brutal reprisal based on their parents' approach to getting on, asking themselves why they have to act 'dishonourably' or unjustly to improve their lot. And their parents standing by the hard work they've put in - whatever the cost - in order to improve things for their families.
Probably my least finest hour was trying to get a shot of Joplin's butt dancing in the background while Meena is in agony from the rat poison she's taken.
Tumblr media
But if you do watch the play - and I really do recommend it - fair warning that Meena and Manju's interactions will wreck you, even if nothing else does (and there's plenty else that should).
THE MOUSTACHE IS GONE
He's now the lawyer for the prosecution (against the Husseins for Fatima's death).
Tumblr media
LIES! DAMNATION AND LIES!
gosh isn't he big though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the accent is better without the moustache?
They still have him hauling bits of stage around in his suit :') And once you're on the look out for him in the unnamed role in between scenes as the copper and the lawyer he's on stage quite a lot. But the cast is large and the story is dense, so if you do watch, be aware that focussing on Joplin will make the story near-incomprehensible and in focussing on the story you might miss a lot of his background appearances. Which is why I'm glad I watched twice :)
---
Rating
Dead? Nope! Not one version!
Evil? Nearly everyone in the play is morally compromised and sees the bribes and the selfishness simply as the only way of surviving with the hand life has dealt them. It's worse from the professional classes because of the additional power they wield, as you'd expect, and though S-I Shankar does what he does for his children's education, one feels he does relish it somewhat, too.
Affects the plot? He does indeed!
It took a while to warm on me, but the second act really made it all come together, and re-watching with a better idea of the characters and themes was really satisfying. The performances all round are great. And on a thoroughly basic note, the uniform is hot, the suit is well-fitted, and yes there was that time he picked up a dude one-handed. 3/5. The speaking roles he has really aren't nice people, looks notwithstanding, and the accent...not his best.
There are shitloads more screencaps too, but I couldn't be bothered to knit them together tonight - when I've watched the last three plays I'll set up a fan blog and a google drive with all of them in for people to take and use as they want.

Review: The Things That We Lost by Jyoti Patel
Tumblr media
I had no idea what to expect from this book but I thought it would be something that I could get swept up in. Fraught family ties and an exploration of a secret past are some of my favourite themes within literary fiction, so I was interested to see what this one was all about.
When Nik’s beloved grandfather dies, he suddenly has some leads that might take him to the father that he never met. His mother Avani has been hiding a great pain and she is at once afraid that the carefully crafted life she has built for herself and her son is about to crumble. Can a mother and son reconcile over what they’ve both lost?
Tumblr media
We do get some flashback scenes to Avani’s youth and her early romance with Elliot. As a young couple, they go through a lot and I was so inspired by their relentless love. Avani’s mother is abusive and her whole family, apart from her father and brother, disapprove of Elliot as he’s a white boy. My heart broke as Avani describes how her mother was still trying to set her up with a Gujarati boy the night before her wedding and how she’d been locked in her bedroom during a family party. The anguish and guilt but steadfast determination to stick by the man she loves was beautiful, which made Elliot’s tragic fate hit even harder.
Tumblr media
The book is about grief and the ripple effect it can have over time. During his grandfather’s funeral, Nik experiences intense anger that he (and the rest of the world) is just expected to move on with life, when it feels like time has stood still. I really felt both Nik and Avani’s intense emotions throughout the book and was fascinated by their different ways of coping. Nik turns into himself despite being a university fresher and Avani gets a dog!
Tumblr media
Avani had a serious relationship with an American man named Paul, who was there for much of Nik’s childhood, so Nik considers Paul his stepdad. However, neither Nik nor Avani had seen Paul for years before Nik’s grandfather’s funeral. The truth of the ending of Avani and Paul’s relationship is revealed to Nik for the first time in the book, so it’s almost like Nik loses two father figures in the space of the narrative, which amps up his search for information about his biological father. I liked Paul for most of the book, so when Avani dropped the ‘twist’ of what happened between the two of them, I was shook. Suddenly, I saw Paul in a whole new light and sadly, so did Nik.
Tumblr media
As is often the case in books that feature multiracial characters, Nik seems to struggle with his cultural identity. I don’t know whether this is true to life for most multiracial people but it seems that a lot of fictional characters with mixed parentage feel disconnected from at least one of their heritages. Having been born and raised in London, Nik doesn’t feel Indian despite being raised by a single Indian mother and having a close relationship with his Indian grandfather. I don’t know if he feels guilty about it because he had a great relationship with his grandfather in spite of that disconnect but Nik goes through some very dark times in the book and I wonder if his identity struggles contributed to that.
The Things That We Lost is an emotional book that charts grief and how it manifests. It’s also about cherishing our lost loved ones and the importance of keeping their memories alive. The characters felt very authentic and I was very invested in what happened to them. I anticipated a hard hitting ending and while it wasn’t the ending I suspected (good!), it still hit me in the feels. A wonderfully written portrait of a mother and son relationship that is going through a rough patch but is still full of love.

Top five ships you like to write for, movies, and desserts!
Ships!
1) Megop, of course. I really like every iteration of them, but I find myself gravitating towards TFA, TFP, and G1 the most
2) Strika/Lugnut (Lugka?) because they’re so buff and so in love and the juxtaposition of having two ultraviolent characters who just care so much about each other is so good
3) Blackarachnia/Slipstream (I think we’re calling it Blackstream) because they’re goth girlfriends but they’re also headstrong outsiders who would be able to find support and comfort in each other and yes I know it’s a rare pair but I love them
4) Shockblurr but a very specific dynamic between them like they have to be of equal standing, equal power, and in their right minds because my god is there just so much enemies to lovers potential there (and also not to ruffle any feathers but the way Blurr is often written as powerless or weak in fics gives me the ick)
5) June Darby/William Fowler and yes I know I haven’t published anything yet but it is in the works because I do believe in finding love later in life and they have potential
Movies!
1) The Lost Boys (1988) is the best vampire movie ever made hands down end of discussion. It’s got the perfect build up, the vampire lore is wonderful, the atmosphere is amazing, the story is so good, it embodies the late 80s, and the ending scene???? Astounding
2) Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989) is a film that I watched as a kid and then rewatched again as an adult and it hit me so much harder as an adult. The message of trying to find your skill and purpose in the world, of the glimmer of kind people among uncaring masses, of feeling burnt out and lost and recovering from that just hit so much harder when I got older
3) Hackers (1995) is ridiculous and amazing. The aesthetic is unmatched, the vibes are so mid-90s, it’s got young Angelina Jolie, the hacking is completely inaccurate, and I love this movie to death and will forever defend it
4) Amelie (2001) is another one of those movies that hits me harder the older I get. The message of how your small changes can alter the world for the better and make other people’s lives amazing stays with me constantly. And the whole movie looks like it’s a dream
5) Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) is beautiful and haunting and gorgeous and astounding and the first time I watched it I cried so hard I triggered a migraine and I recommend everyone watch it but I can never watch it again because I will start crying immediately :)
Desserts!
1) Mango sorbet, I swear I could eat my weight in it
2) Cheesecake, either plain or with the fun little flavor swirls
3) Gulab jamun, which is an Indian dessert made of these sweet creamy cheese balls soaked in syrup it is so good
4) Jian dui, which are these Chinese sesame seed balls filled with red bean paste and I don’t know if they’re considered a dessert, but they are so sweet and so good
3) Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food always hits right

Behind the Scenes with Akhil: Crafting Soulful Music
Akhil, the Punjabi singing sensation, has captivated audiences with his soulful voice and relatable lyrics. His meteoric rise from a small-town boy in Punjab to a globally recognized artist is a story of passion, perseverance, and dedication. Known for hits like “Khaab” and “Teri Kami,” Akhil’s music resonates with listeners from all walks of life, thanks to its emotive quality and universal appeal. This article delves into Akhil’s inspiring journey, his challenges, milestones, and what makes him a true icon in the world of music.
The Early Days: Humble Beginnings in Punjab
Akhil was born as Akhil Pasreja on October 2, 1990, in Nurmahal, a quaint town in Jalandhar, Punjab. Growing up in a family that valued education and culture, Akhil’s interest in music began early. His school days at Doaba Arya Senior Secondary School were filled with singing at local events, where his talent started to shine. Recognizing his passion for music, Akhil pursued a formal education in the arts and graduated from Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar.
However, like many aspiring artists, Akhil’s journey was not without hurdles. The path to a successful music career is fraught with competition, and the Punjabi music industry was no exception. Armed with nothing but his talent and determination, Akhil set out to make a name for himself.
The First Break: Struggles and Small Wins
Akhil’s first song, “Pee Lain De,” was released in 2012, marking his debut in the music world. While the song didn’t gain much traction, it was a stepping stone for the budding artist. Undeterred by the lukewarm response, Akhil continued to hone his craft, experimenting with his vocal range and exploring different musical styles.
In 2014, he released “Muradaan,” a track that garnered more attention and showcased his growth as an artist. The modest success of “Muradaan” gave Akhil the confidence to dream bigger and work harder. He began collaborating with other musicians and lyricists, learning the nuances of creating music that connects with audiences on a deeper level.
The Turning Point: The Magic of “Khaab”
Every artist has a defining moment in their career, and for Akhil, that moment came with the release of “Khaab” in 2016. The song was an instant hit, touching millions of hearts with its poignant lyrics and hauntingly beautiful melody. The music video, which tells the story of love and heartbreak, struck a chord with viewers, earning millions of views on YouTube.
“Khaab” was more than just a song; it was a phenomenon. It resonated with young listeners who saw their own stories reflected in its words. The overwhelming success of “Khaab” catapulted Akhil into the limelight, making him a household name in the Punjabi music industry and beyond.
Riding the Wave of Success: Discography Highlights
Post-”Khaab,” Akhil went on to release a series of hits that cemented his place as a leading figure in Punjabi music. Songs like “Teri Kami” and “Rukh” showcased his versatility and ability to evoke deep emotions through music. In 2017, he released “Life,” featuring Bollywood actress Adah Sharma, which further expanded his fan base.
Akhil’s Bollywood debut came in 2019 with “Duniyaa,” a Hindi remake of “Khaab.” The song was featured in the film Luka Chuppi and introduced Akhil to a pan-Indian audience. This transition from regional music to Bollywood was a significant milestone, opening doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
The Artist Behind the Music: What Sets Akhil Apart
What makes Akhil stand out in a crowded music industry? Beyond his soulful voice, it’s his ability to connect with his audience on a personal level. His lyrics often explore themes of love, loss, and longing — universal emotions that transcend cultural and linguistic barriers.
Akhil’s music also reflects his keen understanding of modern production techniques and audience preferences. By blending traditional Punjabi sounds with contemporary beats, he has created a unique musical style that appeals to both young and older listeners.
Challenges and Perseverance: Lessons from Akhil’s Journey
Like any artist, Akhil has faced his share of challenges, from finding his footing in the industry to staying relevant in a rapidly changing musical landscape. However, his story is one of perseverance. He has continually evolved as an artist, experimenting with new genres and collaborating with a wide range of musicians.
Akhil’s ability to adapt and grow has been key to his sustained success. By embracing digital platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Instagram, he has reached a global audience and built a loyal fan base.
Akhil’s Impact on Aspiring Musicians

Kill: A Bloody Good Time on a Train
Tumblr media
Hold onto your butts, folks! "KILL" is the latest action-packed thriller that's hitting us harder than a runaway train. just like the movie "Kill"! This Indian action flick just hit theaters, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, this movie features Lakshya as the relentless hero, Tanya Maniktala as his love interest, and Raghav Juyal as a ruthless villain. It's a wild ride that feels like Jason Statham hijacked a Bollywood set. Let's dive into what makes "KILL" tick, and what kind of speed bumps it hits along the way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da7lKeeS67c&pp=ygUKa2lsbCBtb3ZpZQ The Good: Action So Intense You'll Need a Neck Brace First things first, this movie's got action sequences that'll have you glued to your seat. From the first fight scene to the last, "KILL" delivers action in spades. We're talking hand-to-hand combat, brutal takedowns, and enough blood to fill a swimming pool (okay, maybe not that much, but you get the idea). The confined setting of a train adds a claustrophobic intensity that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every punch, kick, and knife thrust feels visceral. Lakshya's portrayal of an unstoppable hero brings a certain raw energy that's hard to ignore. This guy doesn't just fight; he demolishes anyone in his path with a kind of brutal grace. It's like "Bullet Train" on a bad acid trip, and honestly, I kind of loved it. The movie's premise is straightforward but gripping. A gang hijacks a train with only knives, turning it into a rolling battleground. The hero, driven by revenge for his father’s death, must fight his way through this gauntlet of goons. The camera work makes every punch feel impactful, and the tight corridors of the train enhance the feeling of confinement and danger. It’s like "Bullet Train" meets "Taken," but with a distinct Bollywood flavor. Plus, the soundtrack is killer (pun intended). It's intense, relentless, and perfectly complements the high-stakes action on screen. Every time you think you can catch your breath, the music pulls you back into the chaos. There's barely a moment to relax in this movie, but hey, that's not why we watch action flicks, right? The Bad: Acting? Let's Just Focus on the Fights The acting in "Kill" is a bit, well, rough around the edges. Let's just say it won't win any Oscars. But here's the thing: in an action movie like this, who cares? Lakshya, our hero, might not deliver Shakespearean monologues, but he throws one heck of a punch. And Tanya Maniktala? She holds her own as the leading lady who gets thrown into the chaos (and somehow manages to look good while doing it). Another thing to keep in mind: the plot is pretty predictable. There's a revenge motive, a bunch of bad guys who keep making silly decisions (seriously, how many times can you leave the hero for dead?), and a whole lot of killing. The story follows a familiar revenge-driven arc without many surprises. The hero's motivations and the gang's reasons for hijacking the train are straightforward, leaving little room for plot twists or deeper narrative exploration. But hey, if you're looking for something that'll challenge your brain, this ain't it. "Kill" is pure, unadulterated action fun. The Verdict: A Must-Watch for Action Junkies "KILL" is a rollercoaster of an action movie that delivers high-octane thrills from start to finish. If you're expecting a deep and meaningful story, "Kill" might not be your cup of tea. But if you're down for a wild, bloody ride with some truly impressive action sequences, then this movie is definitely worth checking out. Lakshya's heroics, Tanya Maniktala's emotional depth, and Raghav Juyal's chilling villainy keep you hooked. Despite its predictable plot and occasional lapses in logic, the movie's relentless action and intense soundtrack make it a must-watch for action fans. If you're in the mood for a Bollywood movie that punches as hard as Jason Statham flick, "KILL" is your ticket. Oh, and one last thing: don't blink during the final fight.  You've been warned.

Saturday couldn’t come soon enough. You were like a little kid at the lead up to Christmas. You couldn’t remember the last time you were this excited for something. Actually, on second thoughts, you couldn’t think of a time you were this excited for anything, period. And all over the prospect of sleeping with Seokjin, and definitely not in the innocent way… He had in no way explicitly stated that you’d be having sex this week, but the insinuation was heavy in the air. Everything leading up to this moment was suggesting come Saturday night you would not be sat in front of Seokjin’s 75” television watching boxsets…
On the morning of you decided to pack a few things in a small case. You definitely planned on returning home in the day if needed or bored while Seokjin was at work, but the essentials were required: underwear, pyjamas, a few outfits, toiletries and skincare, your iPad, miscellaneous chargers. Soojung on the other hand was acting like you were never coming back…
“I’m going to miss you.” She whined, having been hovering around you as you packed. “Leaving me alone with smelly Tae.”
In a bid not to be alone in the evenings she’d invited her smelly boyfriend over for the week, but although she sounded irked it was all just an act. God knows what they’d get up to while you were gone, you dreaded to think. On second thoughts, maybe it would be best to stay at Seokjin’s place all week… You had no clue what you’d walk in on in your own home.
“I won’t be gone the whole week. Besides, we can meet up for lunch and stuff.” You often visited her at the department store, perusing the food court until it was time for her lunch break. You weren’t secluded from the whole world while away. What did she think was happening?
She helped you fold your clothes in momentary silence, deep in thought it seemed. “What if you love it there and want to stay permanently Dilf mansion?”
You scoffed immediately, taking the small pile of t-shirts from her to pack away. “Soo, way to jump the gun.” You’d been dating barely six weeks, hadn’t even had sex yet, moving in together was number 1 on the highly unlikely list. Although, sliding in a couple of pairs of flats into the top pocket of your case and zipping it up, you hummed in consideration. “Dilf mansion does have a ring to it though…”
Soojung’s attention was on another pile of clothing now – one you would be wearing this evening to leave for Seokjin’s house. Her fingertips brushed along the delicate baby blue lace of your lingerie, sitting on top of the pile and she looked up at you and grinned wickedly. “You’re going to knock his socks off with this.”
You and her had spent yesterday browsing the mall with a very important task. To decide on the most perfect lingerie set. Knowing Seokjin for a while know, you’d noticed he had an inclination for the colour blue, so your chosen piece had to be a winner – practically see-through, littered in beautiful lace flowers. You were well and truly prepared for tonight, you were a woman on a mission.
“His Dilf socks,” you corrected your best friend, both of you instantly exploding into a fit of giggles.
Tumblr media
Arin had left with her grandparents this morning, and as much as Seokjin was eager to get this weekend started and see you immediately, he actually had a few things he needed to take care of at work. It wasn’t until around 5pm that you got into your car to make the short journey, Soo waving you off proudly like you were about to attend your graduation. You were honestly quite calm given the circumstances, although one look at Seokjin as he stepped out the front door to take your case and all inner composure was lost. You were one big ball of excitement, most of it flurrying around in the pit of your stomach. Yet you kept cool on the outside, grinning at the handsome man in front of you despite your lingerie burning marks into your skin.
And handsome he was today, (as if he wasn’t every day), his dark hair parted in the centre of his forehead naturally, his eyes crinkling as he smiled and leaned in for a kiss. You tasted a hint of mango on his mouth, an obvious sheen to his plump lips, and you presumed he’d applied some chapstick before you’d arrived – the chapstick you’d bought him not too long ago after he’d complained of cracked lips to you on the phone one night.
“Hey,” he greeted softly, his arms around your waist, body pressed snuggly into yours.
“Hey yourself,” you murmured, wrapping your arms around his neck, gazing into one another’s eyes before you lightly teased him. “Are we going to stay out here all night?”
Chuckling heartily, he reached behind you, lifting your case with ease. “Let’s go put this in my room.”
You’d never once stepped foot onto the upper level of his house before, so you were very observant on your way to his bedroom, eyes catching art pieces (you noticed numerous of Arin’s) and photos along the walls, light fixtures, as well as the odd plant here and there. You had to walk two flights of stairs to get to your destination, one average in length, the other shorter, veering off to the left of the corridor to reach a landing leading into his bedroom. You remembered what he’d said about changing and designing his bedroom himself, so you were very curious as to what it looked like inside. Yet still, the sight of it stunned you to brief silence.
His was the largest bedroom in the house, the master bedroom if you were being fancy, but in your opinion it was more like a mini home in itself. All it needed was a kitchen and you would be good to go. It smelt just like him – of his cologne and the recognisable vanilla scent his house seemed to waft of every time you visited. The walls were warm grey, décor similar with dashes of cream and gold. The bed matched the whole vibe of the room – insanely large, and you could already tell it was going to be the comfiest thing you’d ever slept on. Directly opposite, but a long way away, were a sofa and love seat sat around a TV hooked to the wall above a stunning fireplace. There were two sets of double windows, from the ceiling to the wooden floor, dark grey drapes open – not that it mattered. Seokjin’s house was out-of-the-way, no chance of being seen. All you were met with as you looked down, was a small patch of garden you hadn’t seen before, plain and simple, but very beautiful. Tranquil.
To the left of the room a door opened into another, perhaps a quarter of the size – his closet, and you followed him inside, still pretty much lost for words. He said there was no point putting your belongings away tonight, you could do it tomorrow, but he’d saved a drawer for you and there was an empty section of hanging space you could use too. There was also a dressing table you could put to good use, because he sure didn’t, and then he whisked you away into the bathroom, which was probably the most beautiful room in the house. Everything was warm marble in colour. A separate bath and shower (both gigantic) and double sinks.
“I got you a robe,” Seokjin pointed out, and you followed his gaze to behind the door, two fluffy white robes hooked to the wall.
Oh, boy. You could get used to this.
.
.
Seokjin ordered takeout for dinner – from an Indian restaurant Namjoon kept raving about apparently. With the amount he ordered you could have sworn he was feeding a whole party, not just the two of you. You were stuffed in no time, curling up on the sofa with a glass of red wine as Seokjin loaded the dishwasher. He still hadn’t cooked an actual meal for you, and when he joined you, of course you reminded him. This week he was preparing dinner for you one night, and that was final. You needed to see what Chef Kim had in him – even if he insisted his skills were long forgotten.
You cuddled as you watched a movie, which more often than not meant you’d start to become sleepy – just ask Soojung – but tonight was different. You were wide awake and practically thrumming with excitement. You were begging for the movie credits an hour before they were due, and when they finally popped up your heart started to beat harder in anticipation. It was nearing 11pm. Your lingerie was still burning welts into your skin…
Seokjin kissed the top of your head, your back pressed into his chest where you’d been snuggled into him, legs across the sofa, for the duration of the night. One of his arms was crossed around your front, the other free to drink his wine as he propped his feet up on the glass topped coffee table. You could really get used to this.
“What did you think?” He hummed, reaching forward to place his glass on a coaster. You grabbed his hand, not wanting him to leave you and he chuckled, quickly resuming position to now loop both arms around your shoulders, pressing you further into the warmth of his body.
“I enjoyed,” you replied with a small shrug. In all honesty it would’ve been a great movie if you hadn’t been so distracted.
You felt him lower his head, breath hot against your ear as he spoke. “I’m glad you didn’t fall asleep on me.” You giggled as he started to kiss the column of your neck, his barely there presses of his lips tickling you. Yet still you pushed into his hold, letting your head fall back. He took the opportunity to suck your earlobe between his lips, eliciting a sweet sigh from you. “I really can’t wait to spend this entire week with you.”  He whispered.
You tried to keep your voice as uninvolved as possible – which was a lot harder when he now had your earlobe between his teeth. “Eh. I’m so-so over it.”
“Y/N!” He scolded playfully, groaning a laugh as he lifted his head away. “Stop. Now’s not the time for joking around.”
“I’m sorry,” you giggled, latching onto his hands.
“Face me,” he murmured almost suddenly. “Let me kiss you properly.”
His kisses were gentle and loving, his hands cupping your face as you leaned into him, hands placed across his hard chest. He was wearing a simple white t-shirt tucked into some black pants, he’d looked irresistible all night. He pulled away slowly, lips upturned almost drunkenly. “What’s that grin for?”
Seokjin’s gaze flicked from your lips to your eyes repeatedly as he replied, thumbs massaging circles into your cheeks. “I’m just very happy. Is that allowed?”
Giggling, you pressed your mouth to his, wrapping your palms around his neck to pull him in closer. He hummed loudly – indulgently, and let you lick into his mouth, his own hands slipping down to your neck and down your torso, gripping your middle. Your chest was flush to his and you welcomed the heat of his body. You were happy too. It had been a long time since you’d last felt this content, and tonight you’d realised just how lovely it was to be able to lounge with Seokjin and be in his company so casually, so naturally like this. You would become spoiled this week, but you couldn’t feel too worried right now.
Breaking away again, it seemed like he wanted to say something, but your mouth was a greedy thing, finding its way down his neck and across his throat as he leaned his head against the back of the sofa, his breathing shallow as he let you wonder. His fingers brushed up and down your back distractedly, until he seemed to remember what he wanted to tell you. “Hey,” he whispered, breath catching in his throat when you pinched your teeth into his Adam’s apple softly. “Hey, stop for a moment. There was something I wanted to say before…” He trailed off, unsure how to finish the very obvious direction of his sentence, and as much as you wanted to nosedive straight into that pool, you pulled back to look into his eyes, waiting patiently.
He straightened his back and you eased off him a little, finding his fond smile contagious. “I’ve enjoyed these past few weeks so much.” He began, sincerity in his tone . “I know I’m not old old by any means but dating you has made me feel like I’m young again. I mean, grinding in the middle of a bar is something I didn’t even do back in my college days.”
“I fail to believe that,” you laughed.
“Really,” he insisted, looking amused. “I was a nerd. A handsome one, but a nerd nonetheless.” Before you could roll your eyes he was continuing. “What I’m trying to say is that, I really like you, Y/N.” His fingers played with the ends of your hair lovingly.  “You know that already. Shit, I’m crazy about you. Just hearing your voice makes my day better. No matter how short a time we spend together, even if it’s just on the phone to say goodnight, I feel happy – I feel relaxed.” He paused to take a breath before moving to cup your face with one hand. “No matter how stressed I am you make it better by just existing.”
“…Seokjin,” you murmured, a little lost for words at his declaration.
He chuckled warmly, tops of his cheeks tinged somewhat rosy. “Too cheesy?”
You shook your head adamantly, reaching for his face as well. “Not at all. I’m crazy about you too.” His face lit up instantly and you couldn’t help but kiss him. “I’m so happy we met,” you confessed against his mouth. “I don’t want this summer to be over.”
“It’s not over yet,” he laughed. “We still have time to make it even better.” You wanted that more than anything. Finding it difficult to keep away from your lips, he practically had to tear himself away. He was out of breath. “I know saying this out loud is silly given everything, but… Let’s make this official.”
Your heart started somersaulting. You felt like you were in high school again, over the moon because Kim Rowoon had asked you to prom. Only this was better than that – much, much better. Linking your arms around Seokjin’s neck you tilted your head to the side, a grin unable to keep off your face. “Are you asking me to be your girlfriend, Mr. Kim?”
“What do you say?” He sounded hopeful and soft.
You hummed out loud, thinking hard. “Can I get back to you? 3 to five business days seems about right.” You immediately squealed as you finished your sentence, Seokjin’s hands finding their way around your butt to tug you forward. You gripped onto his shoulders with the surprise.
“Too bad because I’ve already been calling you my girlfriend at the office.”
You didn’t have a chance to reply, the hard press of his lips against yours knocking you senseless. You found yourself in his lap not long after, fingers dragging through his hair as you clung to him, mouths moving in gradual urgency until you began to feel out of breath. Your tongues seemed to grow more daring, intent, as your soft moans mingled with his quiet groans. You hadn’t quite found yourself in this position before, usually moulded to the soft leather but this time you had Seokjin pinned tight, a heat that was quickly becoming unbearable burning between your bodies, and his hands running up and down your back didn’t help.
Each brush of his fingertips had your skin prickling with warmth, dizzying your mind, and when you felt him brush against the curve of your left breast you leaned forward into his touch, desperate for more. Seokjin grunted, encouraged by your action as he cupped the soft flesh, his thumb grazing your nipple which hardened from the touch. Your kiss turned a lot more frenzied after that, Seokjin roaming your body with confidence, his unoccupied hand cupping your butt to rock you against his crotch.
He was hard. You’d felt it stiffening ever since you’d climbed into his lap, but now he was solid, flesh pressing (probably painfully) against his pants, and feeling emboldened you lifted your hips, hovering over him for your hand to slot in between your bodies, cupping his erection firmly. He stiffened under your grasp, his breath hitching and you took that moment to drag your tongue along his, teasing him as you slowly started to stroke him above his slacks. He felt thick and rigid between your fingers, pulsing erratically against your hold, and he broke away from your mouth, head falling back as a loud, drawn-out groan slipped from his throat. You gazed at him – eyes closed, eyebrows furrowed, mouth parted as he breathed shallowly – and took a mental picture. You wanted to remember this moment forever. He looked gorgeous, basking in pleasure and you wanted to pleasure him more. It was an urge so strong you practically dived on him, mouth slamming into his. He soon gained his bearings, kissing you just as wildly as his hands groped your body.
“Do you – mm, do you want – mm – to take this upstairs?” He asked against your lips, fingers currently digging into the soft flesh of your ass. The veins in his neck were visible, his desperation for you obvious, and you pulled away from the kiss to nod rapidly. If he didn’t get you upstairs soon you’d surely explode.
You let out a little squeak as you suddenly found yourself in the air, safely held up by Seokjin. You immediately wrapped your arms around his neck, clinging to him as he began to make the brisk walk to the hallway and towards the staircase. “Oh, my god,” you muttered, laughing as you realised he was about to carry you bridal style all the way up the stairs.
“What?” He laughed back, his eyes twinkling warmly. Your heart melted at the sight and you leaned in to kiss him, uncaring that you both may fall backwards and break your necks.
“I may have forgotten about the amount of stairs in this goddamn house,” he panted lightly once you’d made it past the first set.
“Put me down then,” you giggled.
“Never,” he sang out, pecking you on the mouth sweetly.
Once in his bedroom, he placed you down, closing the door behind you before caging you against it, kissing you like he hadn’t seen you for months. You keened into his touch, whole body hot and ready for him, but in the end you couldn’t keep up with his mouth. He’d never kissed you like this, he was a man possessed, you physically felt weak at the knees and you clung to him, moaning softly when his mouth fell to your neck.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do this,” he confessed against the wet skin, fresh waves of arousal washing through your body. His voice was an octave lower, gruff and nothing like you’d heard before. “I can’t contain myself knowing we’re going to be alone for a whole week.”
“What do you plan on doing to me?” You laughed weakly, but to be honest, the time for wisecracks were gone. You were hanging on by a thread, this close to begging him to tear your clothes off.
Cupping your neck he pulled away to look you in the face. His pupils were blown out, more black than the warm brown you were used to. The tops of his cheeks were tinged red, his own arousal very evident, and when he replied he sounded as sincere as ever. “Anything you want me to.”
Okay, if he carried on like this, he’d mess up your plan good and proper. He was rude. Very rude. And hot, and sexy, and yours. God, you really wanted him. Your body was screaming for him. You pressed a kiss to his mouth, and then another, and another, determined not to get yourself glued there no matter how much he tried to drag his tongue along the seam of your lips. “L-let me freshen up,” you managed to get out, voice shaky as you (with great difficultly) held him away at arm’s length.
At your words, he slowly made sense of them, his eyes refocussing before he gave you a short nod and politely stepped back. “Ok.”
Before you could be tempted by that mouth of his once more, you made a dash for his bathroom, closing the door behind you. Immediately you began to rush out of your clothes, not even bothering to fold them properly because you were in such a hurry. You’d had this planned all night, wanting him to be rendered speechless, and staring at your lingerie cladded self in the giant mirror he had hooked to the wall, you reminded yourself to take a breather. You were going to walk out there calmly, the epitome of composed as you sought out his reaction. With one last look at your reflection, you walked towards the door and opened it.
Seokjin was sat on the edge of the bed, legs sinfully spread (but oh so casually, which just made it hotter), but he wasn’t looking your way, his eyes darting around the room a little as if he was desperately trying to find some patience. Knowing he was riled and aroused made your head even more dizzy, and stopping by the doorframe, you called out to him.
He looked your way instantly, eyes bulging even quicker. Actually they practically popped out on storks as he took in the sight of you in the baby blue underwear. He seemed paralysed.
“Hey,” you smiled, all of a sudden feeling a little shy as you waited for him to say something.
It took another moment, but then he was swallowing hard, wetting his mouth as his lips parted. “Oh, shit.”
You smiled victoriously, those simple two words satisfying you fully.
He outstretched his hand, voice thick and raspy as he beckoned you forward. “Come here.”
You obeyed, closing the distance between you quickly and Seokjin wasted no time clasping his hands around your hips as you stood in front of him, between his legs. If felt so good to finally have his hands on your bare skin. His touch was warm, soothing, but most of all, electrifying. Goosebumps spread as he dragged his fingers up and down your sides, his eyes drowning at the sight of you.
“Do you like it? It’s not too much?” You asked, looking down at him. You glowed under his gaze.
He lifted his head up, arching an eyebrow. “Do I like it? Is that supposed to be a genuine question?” He sounded just as baffled as he looked and it made you giggle. His fingers started to play with the thin waistband of your panties before delicately outlining the lace flower petals on your ass. The sensation made you shiver, and a small smile grew on his face as he watched you. “You look gorgeous.” He leaned forward, beginning to place small, gentle kisses on your abdomen and your skin rippled, butterflies appearing. “You’re beautiful.” He murmured, hot puffs of air hitting you, heating you up even more.
You curled your hand in his hair, needing something to latch on to as you watched him mouth even more kisses along your flesh. The point of his tongue dipped into your navel scandalously, and as you gasped he looked up with his eyes and smirked, tongue now swirling invisible patterns along your stomach. The sight sent you a little gooey, legs feeling weak again as your heart thrummed inside your chest.
“However… I was looking forward to undressing you…” He teased.
You teased right back. “You still have the lingerie.”
He couldn’t handle that, growling quietly against your stomach, his hands rounding your ass to mould the flesh in his palms firmly. He’d soon tear the panties if he kept that up. Obviously the idea of stripping you naked sent him feral – something you’d remember well for this week. You yelped when you felt him sink his teeth into your hip bone, pulling him closer to your body by his hair, desperate for more. It was when you looked behind him, did you notice the pillar candles aflame on the two nightstands that sat either side of his bed. They weren’t burning before you’d entered the bathroom. You were sure of it.
“Seokjin, did you light candles?” You asked without realising, changing the atmosphere slightly, but you didn’t mind too much, not when the image of Seokjin rushing to burn candles for the ~ambience~ was too damn adorable.
He lifted from your skin, looking up at you. “Um, yeah.” He sounded a little awkward before he chuckled softly. “I thought against the slow R&B music.”
“Good choice,” you laughed, fingers rubbing small circles into the nape of his neck. That would’ve been hilarious.
“I’m totally out of my depth here…” He admitted, nudging you backwards a little to stand in front of you. He kept his hands on your waist, ducking down to be eye level with you. “I haven’t done this in a while.”
“Snap,” you grinned, rubbing your nose against his as you wrapped your arms around his neck to hold him close. You kissed him deeply, feeling happy and relaxed. There wasn’t a nerve in sight and despite his honest words you knew he was at ease too.
Your hands slipped over his shoulders and down his toned chest, stopping just before the waistband of his pants to tug at his t-shirt, untucking him. “You have to get naked too.” You whined, detaching your mouths. “I’m feeling sorely underdressed.”
He let out an airy chuckle, immediately reaching for the neck of his shirt to tug it over his head. Your hands greedily started to explore his torso, running your fingers along his faintly lined abs before trailing up his hard chest. He shivered as you brushed against his nipples, a tiny laugh slipping from his throat.
“What?” You laughed.
“’Tickles.” He mumbled, leaning in for another kiss. You wrapped your arms around him, loving the feeling of his bare chest against yours, but soon enough you got impatient again, hands reaching for the button of his pants. You popped it open and proceeded to unzip him, at least giving his poor erection some reprieve. It had been pressed up against your lower stomach for quite some time, still rigid but as patient as ever.
He took over, stepping back to push them past his hips, his lips still attached to yours. “Mm–Bed.” He hummed, taking you by the hips to switch places. You pulled away and sat down, watching him kick his pants off his feet and your eyes zoned in on the curve of his erection, hidden by his Armani underwear – black with a red waistband. His thighs were perfectly toned, his skim glowing in the soft lighting. He looked good enough to eat and your heart skipped a couple of beats as he walked forward.
You laid back against the mattress, instantly groaning at how soft it was. You practically sunk inside. “Oh, damn this is comfy.” Rolling onto your side as Seokjin climbed on the bed, you hid your smirk. “I could just go to sleep…”
“I don’t think so,” he told you, hovering over you. His hand smacked you ass causing you to squeal, and you flipped onto your back as he took the moment to cage you under his large body.
This time his mouth completely bypassed your lips to kiss your chest, pressing into the indents of your collarbones before slipping to the tops of your breasts. He kissed the fabric, wetting it as his tongue traced the delicate flower petals and you gripped onto his shoulders with a moan as he encased one nipple between his lips, sucking gently, soaking the lace a darker shade of blue. “You drive me crazy,” he quietly panted, his hands reaching behind your back, arched into the pleasure he was giving you. “May I?” He asked, fingers finding the clasp of your bra. You nodded hastily, moaning louder when he lifted his head to kiss your lips. His motions were firm, tight pleasure filled grunts leaving him as he freed you of your lingerie.
Immediately he pulled away, dark eyes soaking in your bare chest like it was the most stunning thing he’d ever seen. Your back arched further when his warm palms cupped your breasts, spreading a heat down your spine that settled between your legs. “You’re beautiful,” he awed, looking into your eyes, causing a sweet moan to fall from your lips.
He moulded the soft flesh gently, before brushing his thumbs over your hardened nipples. That had you moaning again, pleasure you hadn’t felt in a long time rocketing up your body. It felt amazing to be touched by him, and you were greedy for more. He was on the same page, his lips replacing his thumbs, his tongue flicking against the sensitive bud that had you sighing out his name, your fingers threaded in his hair. He hummed against you, squeezing your breasts and pressing his body into yours – once – his erection pressing into your thighs, before he pulled away, kissing down your sternum before licking into your navel, his hands rubbing up and down the outside of your thighs.
His lips avoided your clothed heat, which was frustrating to say the least. You were so eager by now, unsure if you could take much more kissing before you exploded, but Seokjin was a man determined – determined on kissing every inch of your body it seemed. He made it down one thigh before moving onto the next and as he got towards your knee you couldn’t help but giggle – it was beginning to tickle, but he didn’t stop, lips pressing down your calf.
“Seokjinn,” you whined.
He chuckled as he made his way back up the other leg, bending you at the knee before gently getting you to spread out for him. “What?” He murmured. Although you were distracted now, realising how aroused you had become, your underwear clinging to you desperately. He was kissing the inside of your thigh now, fingers hooked under the waistband of your panties and he was so close to where you wanted him you were trembling. He nosed his way to the apex of your thigh, groaning as he smelt you and then he was hastily tugging the lace down your legs, the last of your covering. Now you were totally naked in front of him, and he looked like he wanted to eat you up.
“What do you want me to do?” He asked, voice gruff. He sounded so sexy. His eyes were glued to your centre yet he didn’t touch. When you didn’t reply, they flickered to your face. “Y/N. Hm?”
You mind was a blur, you couldn’t think what to say, mainly because you wanted him to do anything and everything to you. You startled when he nosed the inside of your thigh, his hands sliding down your hips to grip the flesh underneath. “Taste you? Is that what you want?” He whispered, sending your insides somersaulting. He looked up as you nodded, and grinned. “You have to say it out loud, honey.”
The bastard. He was teasing you. Trying to get under your skin. Your forced yourself to speak. “Taste me.” He hummed in response, pressing his mouth to your hip bone. You raised your tone, more determined. “Seokjin. Taste me.”
He dived in. Placing gentle kisses up your slit, his lips ever so slightly brushing your clitoris. You moaned quietly, letting your eyes close as you laid back against the softest pillows you had ever felt. Your fists clutched the sheets, hips raising up when you felt the first wash of his tongue. Your breath caught, warmth turning you gooey. “Taste so good,” he mumbled into you – so quietly you wondered if you’d imagined it.
You enjoyed the sensation for a few moments, quietly moaning intermittently before you felt the urge to take a peek. Opening your eyes and looking down your body, you saw Seokjin watching you, his eyes hungry. You quickly looked away, the back of your hand coming up to cover your mouth as a groan left you, your legs falling wider apart. The scene had been erotic but in all honesty you were feeling a little shy. It had been a long time since you’d had sex, so the idea of someone watching you so intimately made you feel funny.
Seokjin was there to reassure you though. “Don’t look away, Y/N,” he murmured, pulling back to get your attention. “I want to see your face.” You looked again, watching him kneel low as he ran a hand up your thigh. His lips shone with your arousal. He looked beautiful.
You moaned lowly when you felt him rub a finger at your entrance, and he watched you intently as he pushed inside, feeling you squeeze around the intrusion. He slowly began to curve the digit, pressing against your inner walls. Committed to pleasuring you, he watched your every reaction and this time you didn’t look away.
“Does it feel good?” He asked, in awe as you writhed around on the bed, chasing the feeling.
You moaned as you replied yes, only to jerk upwards when his thumb began to rub tiny circles against your clit. “Seokjin!”
He liked that. Hearing you cry his name. He wanted to hear it more, dropping low to replace his thumb with his lips. He sucked the sensitive bud of nerves between them, flicking the tip of his tongue against it rapidly, earning him another cry, and he moaned gruffly against you, the vibrations shooting up your body. His free hand moved to your lower stomach, palm hot against your skin as he applied gentle pressure, holding you down.
Oh god, you were a mass of pleasure, mind addled, unable to think straight. Not when he was making you feel so good. He slipped a second finger inside of you, his eyes flicking up to yours and you made it your life’s mission not to look away, chest heaving up and down as you squeezed around his digits. Your orgasm was building, pressure below getting harder to control – harder to ignore. Seokjin guessed it, breaking eye contact to bury his face further into your heat. The image was almost crude, so were the noises, but the most beautiful kind of crude. A crude that had you desperate for more. You jerked into him, rolling into each snap of his wrist, the pads of his fingers grazing your g-spot.
“Want to make you cum,” he rasped, before sucking your clit back into his mouth and sucking determinedly. You groaned, head flinging back into the pillow, eyes clenched closed, a hand coming out to grip the roots of your hair as you rolled your hips into his face, giving into the pleasure well and truly. This orgasm was going to blow your brains out – and it did.
In the end you had you to clamp your legs around Seokjin’s head in a bid to get him to stop, pleasure still rolling through your body as you panted like crazy. He eased from your clit, tongue dragging down your folds instead, meeting his fingers that were almost locked inside of your pulsing walls. With a grunt, he removed himself, kissing your mound one last time before he stopped. With his hands on your thighs as he kneeled between them, he watched you adoringly.
“Oh, my god,” you panted weakly. Unsure what else you could say to describe what you’d just experienced. Why had he not been doing that from the get-go? From as soon as he’d reversed into your car?!
That was all he needed anyway, your simple vocalisation, because no sooner had the words exited your mouth, he dived on you, kissing your mouth, your cheeks, your eyes, your forehead – whatever he could reach. “You’re amazing,” he gushed, his lips and chin still glistening with your wetness. You could taste yourself on him. It was glorious. His hands roamed your body like it was all new to him. As if he hadn’t been it for the last forty minutes or so. “Fuck. I can’t stop touching you.”
Your stomach flipped around, the sound of him cursing sending you dizzy. You licked into his mouth, kissing him messily, your hands raking up and down his back, before they settled on his ass. You gave the meat a squeeze and he grunted, pushing his crotch into yours. He was painfully hard – and desperate. (You hadn’t missed the way he’d been rutting into the mattress while going down on you…)
“Seokjin,” you breathed, moving your head to the side to get your words out. His tongue carried on going, swirling across your cheek. You liked getting messy with him. You tugged at his underwear. “Get naked. Need you.”
“You don’t need a minute?” He asked, tongue now in your ear. He gyrated his hips into yours, grunting as he did so.
You shook your head. “Like hell I do.”
He laughed at that – breathlessly, but it was something. He moved, rushing out of the last bit of clothing he had on, and your eyes drunk up the sight. The missing piece. His dick was long and thick – smooth and warm once you got your hands on him. Hovering over you, you ran your fist up and down him steadily, just enjoying getting to touch him. He dropped to your side, pecking your lips before he pulled back.  “I need to be inside you.”
You continued to touch him, running your fingers along the rigid flesh as he stretched behind him to pull a box from the nightstand drawer.
It caught your attention right away. You raised both eyebrows as you let go of his length. “A hundred condoms?”
He chuckled, sounding a little sheepish. “Too enthusiastic?”
“Do you want to kill me?” Death by (Dilf) dick wasn’t how you’d expected to go, if you were being honest.
“Not particularly,” he shrugged, pulling one of the packet. (Discarding the box to the floor.) He turned back to you with an impish grin. “That’s why I bought the bumper pack of condoms.”
You rolled your eyes, pushing at his chest, but he grabbed your hand and kissed you, distracting you successfully. “No, if I’m being truthful,” he continued, letting you steal another kiss. “They were better value for money. I’m partial to a bargain.”
“You’re unbelievable,” you scoffed.
“You should’ve seen me purchasing them, I have never been more embarrassed in my life.”
“Seokjin, you’re a near 40 year old man,” you judged openly, however on second thoughts – “But yeah, I’d be embarrassed buying a 100 condoms too.”
Seokjin shuddered, looking mortified. “Just the thought of the cashier knowing I was going to get lucky…”
You arched an eyebrow. “Get lucky?”
He looked comically caught out, eyes wide for a second before he shook his head. “Less talking now…” And then he was kissing you again…
Between rushed mouths and eager hands, he managed to tear the condom packet, pulling out the latex to slip it over his erection. Kneeling over you, you could see perfectly when he attempted to roll it the wrong way up.  “Oh, shit. Ignore that,” he muttered, fixing it immediately.
You stifled a laugh. “Ignored.”
He gave himself a tug, making sure everything was secure and your mouth practically watered. “Just warning you now, this may be a three pumps and Bam! kinda thing,” he informed you as he laid over you, pressing a kiss to your lips. “I am so turned on.”
You giggled, wrapping your arms around his middle. “I don’t mind. Just want you.”
“I want you more.” He rubbed his nose against yours.
Hitting his ass, you shot him a look. “It’s not a competition.”
“Isn’t it?” He asked, pretending to be confused.
“Quit stalling,” you whined. “Let’s have sex.”
“Let’s,” he agreed with a warm smile. You turned gooey instantly.
Pressing his knees to the mattress, he hovered over you, wrapping his hand around his dick to direct it between your legs. He rubbed the length up and down your slit, flesh heavy and hot, coating himself in your arousal. The sensation was good for you, but for him it seemed to blow his mind, eyes practically rolling back into his skull as he grunted. He stopped at your entrance, looking up at you as he slowly pushed the head inside.
You shifted under him, trying to stay patient. You wanted nothing more than to be stuffed full of him, but realistically you needed to take things slow. You held onto his shoulders, silently telling him to continue. He let out a strained groan as he slipped in deeper, your walls snug and hot around him, begging him for more. Inch by glorious inch, you kept on taking him, until you were filled up just right.
“Shit,” you uttered, looking up at the ceiling as you adjusted to the sensation.
“Was that a curse?” He asked, voice tight but greatly amused as he nosed your throat.
“Hardly.” Your voice was barely there, desperate for him to move.
“I’d still class it as swearing.” He was holding his breath, yet still felt the need to be a smarty-pants. You moved your hips practically a centimetre and he grunted. He didn’t want you to win though. “I want more. Maybe not tonight, but I will turn your mouth filthy by the end of the week…”
A moan tore from your throat uncontrollably, and you couldn’t look at his face because you knew you’d be met with a gloating smirk. You steeled yourself, nose in the air. “Game on.”
Seokjin laughed obnoxiously, but couldn’t wait any longer, slowly dragging out of you and then pushing back in. His breath hitched – so did yours, and he carried on, propping himself up with one hand as he gained a steady rhythm.
“You feel so fucking good,” he moaned, watching your face.
“You too.” You clung to him, feeling your face heat up and ended up dropping your gaze.
“Honey, don’t be shy,” he whined, reaching to cup your face, in the process pressing more of his body weight into you. You clutched him tighter, wanting him as close as ever. “I like watching you. Knowing I’m making you feel good.” His mouth on yours now, you sunk into the kiss, moaning softly as his thrusts got quicker. You met each one, rolling into him.
It wasn’t long before he was on your throat, kissing and nipping the skin, his hands exploring the rest of your body. Your ran your fingers through his hair, sighing sweety when his mouth wrapped around one of your nipples, slipping the hard flesh into his mouth to suck.
Face pressed against your chest, his movements became a little erratic, breathing heavy until he was panting. You moaned along, loving how he was making you feel. “You are honestly the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.” He awed, voice raspy.
You let out a weak chuckle, running your fingers through the ends of his hair. “Of course you would say that with a face full of my boobs.”
He laughed too, kissing his way back up your chest, his hands pressing into the pillow as he leaned in for your mouth. You stared at one another for a little while, your moans mingling together, and it was the most intimate moment you’d ever shared with anyone.
“Good?” He asked. You were unsure if he was asking how you were or if you were enjoying yourself, but regardless, the answer was the same.
“Really good,” you smiled, running your hand down his chest.
His thrust were getting messier, less controlled, less strategic, so it was no surprise when he had a confession to tell you, kissing you once again. “I’m-I’m… close.”
He’d exceeded the predicted three pumps at least… “Hey, you can go a little harder,” you whispered against his mouth.
He grunted, slacking at your words but quickly got a hold of himself. Each snap of his hips got firmer and harsher, fucking – because there was no other way to describe it – you into the expensive bed. Your cries of pleasure came out stunted and unsteady, his own grunts louder now, gruffer as he chased his end.
“Seokjin –!” Your hands fell to his ass, holding him tight as he pounded into you. “Don’t stop,” you encouraged, which seemed to tip him over the edge – quickly.
“Fuck. Coming…”” His face fell into the crook of your neck, panting as he tried to keep moving, and then he froze, his body hot, partly sweaty, a long drawn-out groan sounding against your ear as he came.
You wrapped your arms around him, keeping him to you because in all honesty, you didn’t want to let him go. You could feel his heart beating against your chest rapidly, even after he’d partially caught his breath, and you knew yours was beating just as fast. You kissed his shoulder when he kissed yours, and slowly he lifted his head, turning to give you a drunken smile. He sighed contently. “That honestly beats any orgasm I’ve ever given myself lately.”
“I should hope so!” You burst out laughing, not quite expecting those to be his first words and he immediately joined you before hugging you tight.
.
.
You awoke naturally, light from outside peeking through the loosely closed drapes. Seokjin had his arm around you, his body curved into yours, and you could tell by his breathing he was still very much sound asleep. Proving your point, he grunted softly, rolling onto his back, his grip on you loosening. Carefully, you turned around to face him, taking in the sight of his sleeping form. His lips seemed to be pouted, eyebrows furrowed slightly – of course he had an adorable sleeping face. Of fricking course.
The bed sheets were pushed down, draped across his pelvis, one hip sticking out, while his broad chest and toned stomach laid bare. You found yourself smiling, insanely happy, wondering if you’d been a saint in a past lifetime – you had to have been. How else had you hit the jackpot? A kind-hearted, beautiful man with a banging body? You’d struck big.
Wanting to leave him sleep longer, you got up quietly, needing to pee, not worrying that you were butt naked, and as you left the bathroom, you moved to the closet (room) to fish for your phone in your purse. You’d left it there all evening yesterday, not wanting to be interrupted, and low and behold you had a bunch of notifications waiting for you on the screen. You got back into bed, getting comfy before you scrolled through them. Most were unimportant, news updates and social media notifications. You had a text from your mom reminding you to call your grandmother soon, one reminder regarding your phone bill going out tomorrow and then, from half an hour ago, a text message from your best friend. Why the hell was she up so early on a Sunday?!
Soojung (8:32am) Spill the details girl! How was Mr. Dilf 🥵👨🏻🍆💦
You snorted, pretty loudly, couldn’t help it, and when you realised you shoved a hand over your mouth, hoping you hadn’t woken your boyfriend (yes, it felt so good to finally use that word) up. You glanced over, but his eyes were still shut, a peaceful look on his face, so with a relieved inner sigh, you went back to your phone, wondering how you should reply. You had quite a lot to say, messaging her “the details” wouldn’t work. Maybe you could give her a summary? Until tomorrow when you could call her while Seokjin was at work. Maybe you could meet her for lunch. And who knew, you’d probably have more to tell her come then –
“Good morning, beautiful.”
You jumped when you heard Seokjin’s voice, his arm wrapping around you once more as he snuggled closer, encasing you in his body warmth.
“Seokjin,” you greeted, instantly shoving your phone onto the nightstand, face down. “Good morning.”
“Mmm.” He rubbed his face into the crook of your neck, burrowing his arm under the covers to touch your skin, hand cupping your waist. He was still sleepy, voice groggy. You settled into his hold, closing your eyes. With a kiss to the top of your shoulder, he spoke again.  “What were you snorting at?”
Your eyes immediately flew open. He’d heard that? “Nothing,” you tried to reply casually.
He laughed, the throaty sound shooting up your body, leaving warmth in its wake. “Come on, something made you laugh.” He lifted his head, looking at you pointedly, plump lips pressed together, mouth curving up slightly. “You have to share, it’ll be rude not to.”
It took you a second to give in. “Fine.” It was probably time to let him know anyway. Soojung might try to kill you, but she couldn’t get you if you were gated in at Seokjin’s home…  You reached for your phone and flashed the screen on, holding it out to him. “Soojung’s an idiot,” you sighed.
He delicately held the back of your hand, steadying the device so he could read the messages. A second later he was deeply amused, lips quirking before he let out a little laugh. “Has that been my nickname the entire time?”
“Maybe…” Amongst other things… They could wait till later though.
He hummed, trying to keep his expression casual, but you could tell by his eyes how amused (and smug) he was. “The emojis add a nice touch.”
You rolled your eyes, about to tell him to shut up, but immediately his lips were pressed against yours. He kissed you sweetly – which was all just an act. When he pulled away, he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, tone arrogant. “So… how was Mr. Dilf?”
“Seokjin!” You exclaimed. This couldn’t be happening. He was just as bad as Soo and Taehyung.
Laughing loudly, he kissed you again, caging you under him smoothly. Your hands reached for his biceps, feeling them flex underneath you. “Was it good enough for a round two? Don’t expect me to keep my hands off you,” he told you, his fingers tickling your stomach as his face fell to your neck, kissing and biting the skin.
You began to laugh, squirming under him, but no matter how much you tried to free yourself it was impossible. “Stop,” you whined. “Seokjin, you’re tickling me!” He eased off with the tickling but his mouth only seemed to ramp up, his tongue licking up your throat. “You’re so sexy,” he groaned, meeting your gaze, and instantly laughed. “I love embarrassing you.”
You grumbled, realising you’d started to blush. “I’m not embarrassed,” you insisted. “I’m turned on.” Two could play at that game. Seokjin’s eyes widened comically, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed.
“Yeah?” He murmured, getting a hold of himself, mouth ghosting over yours. You nodded, dragging your hands down his back to settle on his ass. You could feel his dick rousing between your thighs. It was so easy to get him. He was like putty in your hands.
“You’re okay though, mm?” He asked, tone softening as he stared into your eyes. “Did you enjoy last night?”
“I thought that was obvious,” you informed him, but his tenderness didn’t go ignored. God, you were really lucky. “I feel so happy,” you grinned, moving to clasp your arms around his neck. He grinned too, teeth on show, and then you couldn’t hold off any longer, kissing him eagerly.
“Fuck,” he breathed, after you’d just licked a strip up his jaw line. His hands clung to hips. “I want you in so many ways.”
You gave him a dangerous smirk. “We have all week, I’m sure you’ll be successful.”
Groaning, he seemed beside himself, skin hot and sweaty, his hair dishevelled, falling into his eyes, cheeks patched red. Finally, he settled on a decision. “Would you like to shower with me?”
“Okay,” you replied instantly, your excitement already tenfold, and suddenly you were in his arms, rising off the bed to be carried (naked) bridle style to the bathroom. “Seokjin!” You squealed, clinging onto him tightly, but all he did was laugh. You could get used to this.
His walk-in shower was grand, practically a separate wet room – two glass doors leading inside and a marbled tiled bench to the left with two panelled windows behind it. There were two showerheads – one large one attached to the ceiling and the other jutting out from the wall. Seokjin chose the centre one, knocking it on and enclosing you both in hot water. Warmth radiated from beneath your feet too – heated flooring, of course.
You spent the next ten minutes wrapped together kissing, hands exploring one another’s soapy bodies. It wasn’t long before there was a very obvious erection bobbing against your stomach. “Someone says hello again,” Seokjin hummed against your mouth, nipping your bottom lip before he broke away and chuckled. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but you’ve been the cause of many an awkward boner.”
You laughed, hooking one arm around his neck. “I noticed.” Your other hand wrapped around his dick, the wetness of his skin making it easy to glide your fist along the veiny shaft. You gazed up at him, admiring the way he’d pushed his wet hair above his forehead. He looked incredibly handsome – so handsome, you were finding it hard to control yourself. “Was this one of your ways?” You murmured.
“Maybe,” he said with a smile, huffing out a little when your thumb grazed the sensitive slit across the head of his member.
“I have a better idea…” You whispered, pushing a little at his chest. “Sit.”
He obeyed, sitting on the bench while watching you wordlessly (but curiously), his eyes flashing when you moved to kneel in front of him. “Fuck,” he muttered, dick twitching in anticipation. You took him in your fist again, feeling oddly confident as you flicked out your tongue. It had been a long time since you’d sucked dick but you were more than ready.
You washed your tongue across the head, hearing him grunt above you, and encouraged, you took him in your mouth, sucking firmly around the tip. His hands instantly reached for your head, fingers carding through your hair. He groaned lowly, thighs tense, but when you started to jerk your fist along his shaft, he relaxed into the pleasure, murmuring your name.
“Okay, this idea seems better than mine,” he admitted, voice tight.
You hummed in agreement, vibrations travelling up his length which made him groan, fingers in your hair tightening. Taking him deeper, you washed and swirled your tongue as best you could around the thick flesh. Seokjin’s length was impressive, but you had all week to grow accustomed to it, for now, you had your hand, continuing to stimulate him with both that and your mouth. The water from the shower hit your back and calves, the heat beneath you making sure you didn’t grow cold.
“Should we go back to the bedroom?” Seokjin asked, sounding concerned, despite how good you were making him feel. A hand ran down your back soothingly. “Your knees will start aching.”
Pulling off him, a string of saliva that attached you breaking apart, you shook your head and ran your palm all the way up his length, twisting against the tip. He bucked into your hold. “It’ll be worth it.”
Seokjin let out a low growl, eyes dark. “Don’t say things like that.”
You smirked, spreading your saliva up and down him slowly before speeding up, concentrating on the head. Seokjin’s mouth was open, his breathing shallow, chest littered with red blotches, making it painfully obvious how aroused he was. You wanted to run your hands all over the muscular torso, mouth too – but that could wait. First of all, you wanted to make him cum.
“You have a pretty big dick. Has anyone ever told you that?” You purred, eyes flicking down to his crotch.
Seokjin grinned confidently, the hand in his hair reaching to cup your cheek. “You seemed to handle it very well last night.”
Oh. Heat exploded through your body, settling between your legs, and you took him back in your mouth, a hiss leaving his throat. He tapped your chin, gaining your attention. “Y/N, look at me,” he commanded softly.
And you did. You watched every bit of pleasure that flitted across his face as you continued to suck his dick, never breaking eye contact, even when he did; eyelids closed, face scrunched up as he came down your throat a few minutes later…

cooking at 3am /// Osamu x f!Reader
Request: Imagine cooking together with Osamu at 3am because neither of you could sleep (or because ‘Samu got the midnight munchies lol). You don’t have anything specific in mind; you’re just playing around and feeding each other little bits of what you make.
A/N: bruh you said munchies and my mind said [[ h i g h o s a m u ]] sorry this went in a kinda different direction? but still fun 3am cooking project vibes :P
Tag/warnings: fluff, light drug use (weed), you and Atsumu are lowkey Bros™️, Osamu's kinda baby 🤧
Osamu’s not good at smoking.
He doesn’t really know how to inhale—you know, hold it in his lungs so it can soak in or whatever—and when he does, he coughs. Except he tries to repress the coughs. Even if he wants to hide it, he’s always close enough to you that you can feel his chest moving from trying not to cough when he takes a hit.
And also, like every baby smoker, he can’t really tell when it’s kicking in until he’s off the deep end.
“Can you feel it yet?”
“No.”
You shoot Osamu a glance where he’s sitting on the ground in front of the couch, watching a nature documentary on Atsumu’s TV with a glazed-over look on his face. “You sure? Your eyes are super red.”
“I can’t feel it. Give it—“ He holds out his hand and honestly you’re pretty sure he’s had plenty, but it’s Atsumu’s vape so who cares. You hand it over and Osamu holds it up to his mouth and sucks, eyes fluttering closed as the light on the side of the Pax glows yellow.
God, he looks hot when he does that. Something about a hot guy smoking, yeah? Actually, no. Something about your hot boyfriend smoking.
Except 'Samu holds his breath a second too long and you can see the urge to cough hit him… Wait for it, you think to yourself, and a second later he hacks and wheezes the vapor out in a wispy cloud that reflects silver against the semi-dark. You coo in sympathy and pat his back. “Want some water?”
Osamu shakes his head, hand over his mouth to stop the coughing. On the tv, David Attenborough talks about penguin courtship rituals and Atsumu (who’s been draped on the couch next to you for the past few hours) gives a light little sigh in his sleep. You check the time. 3am. Bedtime. Too bad you and 'Samu are both too high to drive home…whoops. Guess you’re spending the night at Atsumu’s place.
Osamu rubs his bloodshot eyes like they’re itchy, which they probably are. “Hey, can we— uhh… Do we have pancakes.”
“Pancakes, babe? You mean the ones you made for breakfast?”
“Yeah, there’s leftovers…I made you extra and you didn’t want them.” He twists around and gives you an incredibly dirty look, like this is something you did on purpose to hurt his feelings. “If you don’t want them I’m going to eat them.”
“Wait, 'Samu—“ But Osamu's already getting up off the floor to wander over to the next room. You debate pausing the show—it’s a really good scene—but you leave it going for Atsumu's sake because you’re pretty sure the narration is the only thing keeping him asleep. He’s kinda drooling on your shoulder and you have to push him off to go follow your boyfriend to the kitchen.
“What is all this stuff? Ugh…” Osamu's pawing through the fridge. There’s a lot of crinkling, plastic sounds—you catch a glimpse inside and all of the shelves are stacked up with plastic bags and styrofoam containers.
You yawn and hop up to sit on the kitchen island. “Takeout? I don’t think he cooks.” Atsumu's going to get a lecture tomorrow for keeping 2-week-old Indian food in his fridge. God knows you heard it way too many times before you and Osamu moved in together. You don’t envy 'Tsumu.
Osamu sits down in front of the fridge, fumbles with a drawer, and pulls out a bag of moldy grapes. “Gross…who lives like this…”
You snicker into your hand.
“I can’t find the pancakes.” 'Samu's pulling the plastic drawers all the way out now, setting them down on the floor as he inspects the contents of the fridge.
“They’re not here.”
“You ate them?”
“No, I— Hey, put those back in,” you tell him helplessly as he shuts the door of the fridge, ignoring all the leftover food he took out. Yeah, half of it was probably off anyway, but Atsumu's gonna be pissed if he wakes up and there’s takeout going bad all over his kitchen floor.
“You threw away my pancakes?” Now the look on Osamu's face is utter betrayal. He stands up off the floor and glares sulkily at you. “I made those for you…”
“I didn’t throw them away, they’re—“ You hold back a laugh and wish you had your phone on you (where did it go?) so you could take a picture. He’s so cute when he smokes. “—they’re at home.”
“At home?”
“Yep, at home. The place where you and me live, remember?”
“Oh.” Osamu pauses, reaches out absently to grab the edge of your sleeve. You’re wearing one of his hoodies. “We’re not at home?”
“Nope. We’re at Atsumu's place,” you tell him through a giggle.
He plays with your sleeve, contemplating. “Why?”
“Because we’re out of weed and he said he’d smoke us out. And we like hanging out with him.”
“Oh. We do?”
“Yes.”
“…’Kay.” It takes Osamu a second to accept this, but then he nods seriously. “(Y/N), I'm hungry.”
“I know. What do you want to eat? You could probably have any of that stuff, I don’t think he’ll miss it.”
'Samu thinks about it for a moment, scanning the array of takeout containers spread out across the kitchen floor. “I want pancakes.”
“The pancakes are at home, remember?”
“Yeah…” Osamu flips over his grip on your sleeve and traces his thumb down the lines in your palm. “I could make some?”
More pancakes? “I don’t think 'Tsumu has eggs, babe. Or flour. Or…baking soda?” You’re not really sure what ingredients go into pancakes. Whatever cooking skills you possessed pre-Osamu have deteriorated significantly since you moved in together and he took over any and all food preparation for your household.
He pouts at this, and his hair is a little messed up, and he’s so pretty that you can’t stand how much you like him in that second. Mine mine mine, something in the back of your brain says. He’s mine.
You reach up and Osamu obediently ducks his head down so you can smooth his hair back into place and fix the bits that are flipping over his part. “Is there anything else you want to eat?”
“Onigiri.”
“Oh…” Well, at least Atsumu probably has rice. “Sure. Ok. That’s your specialty.”
“I want ya to make it for me.”
“What?” You frown and pull your hand out of his. “You know my cooking sucks.”
“No it doesn’t. (Y/N)’s food’s the best.”
“You own an onigiri shop, come on—“
“Please?”
One of his bangs falls back in his eyes and without thinking you reach up to put it in place. “Okay, fine. But you can’t complain about it if it’s not good.”
He smiles and you want to blush. “Yes! I promise.”
So you do it for him. Even though you’re high too. You measure some rice and water into the rice cooker (Osamu has to give you pointers on how much of each to put in) and you scrounge around Atsumu's depressingly bare kitchen for a few sheets of seaweed and some easy fillings. Osamu pulls a stool up to the island counter and rests his chin on his hands so he can watch you with a bleary look of adoration on his face.
It takes you…maybe half an hour to be done? It’s hard to gauge time when you’re high. You and 'Samu both jump when the rice cooker finishes and plays the little rice cooker song, which will remain stuck in your head for the foreseeable future. 'Samu hums it in a loop while you shape the rice into lopsided triangles and wrap the nori around it.
“Here,” you tell him when you set the plate down in front of him. He looks entirely too happy to be eating your mediocre food for someone who literally does this for a living, but who cares.
He picks one, takes a bite, swallows. And blinks.
“What do you think?” you ask in spite of yourself.
“Umm…salty,” Osamu says.
You grab one to try yourself and it’s salty. Like, ocean salty. Yuck. “I told you it would be bad,” you complain, trying to tug the plate away but Osamu grabs it and pulls it back.
“Noooo…it’s good,” he lies, although his face is giving him away. Still, he takes another bite and chews enthusiastically.
“Shut up.” You tug a little harder but Osamu doesn’t let go.
He swallows, pulls a face, and takes another one. “So good. I love it.”
“Shut up. You sound so fake. You’re going to get sick if you eat that.” You keep pulling, but he insists on pretending it’s edible so you admit defeat and help him finish the onigiri off. God, they’re awful. But he keeps eating and so you do too.
When you’re done, your mouth feels dry as fuck and you want to sleep almost as much as you want to drink about a gallon of water. “Is it bedtime yet?” 'Samu asks, wiping his mouth and then rubbing his eyes again.
The clock over the oven says it’s past 4. “Yes. It’s bedtime.”
“Wait—we’re…we’re not at home, right? We’re at 'Tsumu's?”
“Mhm.”
“I prolly drove here…I dunno if I can drive now,” Osamu tells you slowly, like he’s apologizing. “I think I'm kinda high.”
“Oh yeah?” You hold your laugh back and put your hands up on his cheeks. “How do you feel?”
“Dizzy. Blurry? Like…you’re in slow-motion.” His hands come up to layer over yours. “You’re pretty in slow-mo.”
“Prettier than usual?”
Osamu closes his eyes, scrunching them up to think and then looking over your face intently. “Same amount, just slower. So it’s easier to see.”
“That so?” You slip your hands around to drape over his shoulders and get up on your tiptoes to give him a little kiss on the cheek, because he’s earned it. “You know what, I think I'm kinda high too. I think we’re going to have to have a sleepover.”
“On the couch? S’not big enough for us both.”
“You can sleep with 'Tsumu in his bed…or I guess you could sleep on the ground?”
'Samu's mouth twists and his brows draw together. You can practically hear the gears in his mind turning while he considers alternatives. “Can we share the bed?”
“I think Atsumu's gonna want it. It’s his house.”
“But he’s already sleeping.”
True, you can hear Atsumu snoring lightly from the living room underneath David Attenborough’s description of endangered falcons in the Philippine rainforest. You should really wake him up—matter of fact, you should really clean up the kitchen because it’s a huge mess—but 'Samu's already pulling you away. And you’re so sleepy.
“He’s going to be pissed tomorrow,” you tell Osamu through a yawn, but you let him steer you in the direction of Atsumu's bedroom, holding your hand.
“Don’t care…I hate sleeping without you.”
“Yeah,” you say, and you squeeze his hand and he looks back at you like you’re the literal best thing in the entire universe—and you decide you should get him high more often. “Same.”

Words: 1118.
_______________
“No, please, p-please!” You kept moaning in a pillow, praying for your tongue not to give out - you could feel how tough it was to move it inside your mouth, full of saliva. “I c-can’t-”
“Yeah? Can’t keep cumming like a bitch in heat?” The orc above you hummed in your ear as he pounded into your abused cunt roughly, stretching you with his monstrous cock so much you could see a bulge in your stomach. “Come on, princess. A little slut like you deserves to be my bedwarmer.”
He kept thrusting in the very same spongy spot that made you squirm and shake from both pleasure and pain, making your feet curl as you bit down on the pillow, cumming beneath him, your eyes rolling back into your skull. Fuck, it was so, so good. You had never known a barbaric orc three times bigger than any man could bring you so much pleasure, destroying your innocent tight pussy.
He was fucking you in your own room full of your stuffed toys and porcelain dolls - Bucky laughed when he had first entered, breaking the doors: he was covered in blood of your people, clad in armor, a heavy, sharp sword in his arms. And you sat on your bed in a creamy dress that looked more like a nightgown, praying silently among all those ridiculous teddy bears. Well, Bucky had to give you some credit - you made all your ladies-in-waiting leave, staying all by yourself and waiting for his warriors to come and kill you. You knew well you had no chance to escape, the sole heir to the thrown who barely ever left the palace. You weren’t even sure your ladies left on time or were now imprisoned.
“Shit,” he growled lowly in your ear, feeling your pussy trying to milk him, clenching his cock like a vice, pulling his climax from him. “You needy bitch!”
He bit your earlobe, brushing his tusks against the gentle skin of your neck, and you whimpered, pressing yourself closer to him involuntarily. Bucky was really lucky, laying his hands on such a pure, innocent little girl whose lovely cunt was so tight for him. The thought of ruining you made him even harder - oh, what he wouldn’t give for a chance to see your pretty smiling face a year ago when you travelled across your country. And now the same sweet little lady was moaning with his filthy fat cock inside her, cumming with each his fucking thrust.
“You like that, huh?” The orc breathed heavily against your ear, showing his finger in your mouth and caressing your kitten tongue. “Do you know where’s your place, honey? Do you? Hey, open your mouth... shit... little human whore, aahh.”
The potion worked wonders on your virgin cunt, and Bucky was able to sheath himself fully in you, but your brain simply refused to work while you let the orc fuck you, destroying your sweet innocent pussy, pushing you into your own bed. He couldn’t get much out of you even regardless of what he said.
“You gonna stay in my bed until your belly grows full with my babies, honey.” Bucky licked his tusks, playing with your tongue as you rolled your eyes, mewling beneath him. “Maybe then I’m gonna let you out for a bit. You think I care you’re some royalty, huh? S-shit... yeah, take me like that... good girl... I’m gonna knock you up bitch, you hear me?”
Bucky decided to change position, grabbing you and sitting on your bed so that you were facing a big mirror, sitting on his lap, your body covered in sweat and his cum. Opening your legs so you could see your swollen lower lips and your hole stretched nicely around his cock, the orc kept pounding into you, forcing you to watch yourself in the mirror with his hand clenching your chin.
Your face was unbearably hot as you looked at your reflection, never imagining to ever see something so vulgar and indecent... but fuck, it felt so, so good. The wet sound of his balls slapping against your ass, the heady scent in the room, this feeling of him stretching you and filling your pussy to the brim - you had never known being beneath a man felt so heavenly. Yes, you were ashamed of being fucked by an orc, maybe even a little disgusted, but you couldn’t pretend like you weren’t in heat, desperate for his fat, girthy cock hitting your womb. Would it be so bad if you’d become an orc’s whore? Bear his little orclings? Maybe you were a princess, yet being his slut felt so much better now.
“Nooo,” you whined, trying to avert your eyes from a filthy scene in a mirror. “I d- oohhh... I wanna have a husband... I w-wanna get married.”
“To some prince?” Bucky barked out a laugh, forcing you to look at him and licking your lips with his huge tongue. “Sorry, little bitch. You gonna get married to me ‘cause I’ll ruin your pretty cunt for any prince, honey.”
With that you suddenly moaned loudly, your walls milking orc’s cock when you cummed again, tears streaming down your face from the intensity of your orgasm. Bucky lowered his face to you, spreading your lips with his tongue and getting inside your mouth, enjoying the way how small you felt comparing to him - your little tongue was covered by his the very same second he slipped it inside. The orc was sure he wouldn’t be able to stick his finger in your cunt if not the potion.
Shit, he was really getting off from fucking you in your room full of toys and all those pink little things. Bucky loved ravaging you, a princess, a sweet innocent bitch, on your comfy bed, tearing your insides apart with his monstrous cock as you moaned with your eyes rolled back into your skull. You had such a fucking stupid expression on your face he could cum from it alone. In the end, corrupting you didn’t take much time, huh? You were certainly made for him, not some spindleshanks prince.
Well, regardless of what you said, you didn’t have much choice now with your little kingdom conquered by his warriors, nowhere to run to, no one to ask help from but him, the warchief, the leader who had claimed you as his trophy. Even when the potion’s effect would fade, you would be bound to him, the one who had taken your virginity, dirtied you, made you rotten, ruined your for any decent human man.
“Shh, honey.” He cooed in your ear, filling your used cunt with his seed again. “Don’t worry. I’ll make you a happy woman.”
